Teenage queenie

” Teenage Queenie ” is a song by Pussycat. It appeared in 1981 on a single and their LP Blue lights. On the B-side is the song Who’s going to love you. Both songs were written by Werner Theunissen.

The single was recorded at the Dutch Music Centre of Chiel Montagne in Baarn and was produced and arranged by Pim Koopman. The mastering took place in the EMI studio in Heemstede.

The singer is a mother with a growing teenager. The adolescent thinks differently about all kinds of things than she does. She worries about her every night and doesn’t know if she’ll see her before dawn. In the video clip, band member Lou Willé also dances along, Toni’s husband.

The single was a modest success in the Netherlands and did not get a listing in Belgium. In Germany, on the other hand, where Pussycat had not been listed since My broken souvenirs (1977), the song was in the charts for 11 weeks.
