“Then the Music Stopped” is a song by Pussycat. It was released in 1981 as a single and on their LP Blue lights. Pim Koopman replaced Eddy Hilberts as producer, who had produced all of the group’s records in the previous years. The B-side of the single contains Cha cha me baby. Both songs were written by Werner Theunissen.
The music starts with a barrel organ. In the video clip, the accompaniment singers have performance-like motor skills in line with the movements of the puppets in the barrel organ. In the song, the music and the lights have gone out and the singer asks her lover to lead her through the night. She wants the music to play again and for him to love her.
