Costello, Daniel Rae
Profile: (17 June 1961 – 22 July 2019) was a Rotuman Fijian guitarist based in Samoa.
n 1979, Costello recorded his first solo album, called Tropical Sunset, which flopped. Three years later, his album, Lania which was a huge success in Fiji and around the Pacific. After his mother died in 1985, he changed his name to Daniel Rae Costello. He moved to Australia a few years later because of the 1987 Coup where he wrote two songs, Samba and Take me to the Island and returned to Fiji and started his own Studio and Production Suite called “Tango Sound Productions” and recorded his first big hit album, Samba.
Costello recorded 30 albums. He was an accomplished songwriter, composer, arranger, audio engineer, vocalist, musician and producer in the Pacific region. He recently recorded an album with Toni Willé from the Dutch group Pussycat, called Let The World Sing. The first single, originally a hit for Pussycat Georgie gained numerous airplays on Fiji radio.
At the 2020 Pacific Music Awards, Costello was posthumously awarded a lifetime achievement award

Egdom studied guitar from 1976 to 1981 with Hans-Lutz Niessen, a student of Bruno Henze, at the Maastricht Conservatory, and took private lessons with Charles Green and John Thomas. He studied at the University of Maryland, College Park and in 1983 at Berklee College of Music in Boston on a scholarship, as well as privately with John Scofield, among others; he then moved to Los Angeles. He initially toured with Corey Allen and Peter Gordon. On his second album, This Is for You, he played with Bob Berg, Alex Acuña, John Patitucci, Eric Gale and Bobby Militello, among others. The next album Hybrid Groove also received good reviews. He toured North and South America as well as Europe with musicians such as Eric Vloeimans and Glenn Corneille. Since 1985 he has been the owner of CULEA Productions.

Hermans, Ruud
Profile: (Tilburg, December 24, 1950) is a Tilburg country and western singer who won the 2019 edition of The Voice Senior.
His musical career started with the folk band Heating from Tilburg, which released an LP and a number of singles. As a youngster, Hermans developed in the field of Americana. In 1973 he was hired by Ton and Ine Masseurs as lead singer of the Tumbleweeds. He alternated the vocal parts with Ine Masseurs and also played extra percussion parts on twelve-string guitar that the rhythm guitarist on duty Berry Masseurs could not play on his six-string. Despite its success, Hermans never saw himself as part of the band The Tumbleweeds brought him to the United States (1973/1974). Despite the performances and performances of self-written songs, Hermans became dissatisfied with the repertoire, he felt that they no longer fit in with the times. In 1975 the band had a number 1 listing in the Dutch charts with Merle Haggard’s Somewhere Between.
Hermans’ songs were received by the press as coal English, but the band members tried to please Hermans as much as possible.
In 1977 Hermans made it clear to Ad Masseurs that he was going to leave the Tumbleweeds. He wanted to make more pop-oriented country music.
He founded the Ruud Hermans Band, but it did not receive enough commercial attention. In order to achieve success in the United States, he renamed the band Tulsa, after the city of Tulsa. Also with this band there was no breakthrough; she was called in as a support act for performances by other artists, including the aforementioned Merle Haggard and also Johnny Cash.
In the 1984-1985 season, he presented the radio program KRO-ORK on Hilversum 3. From the 1990s onwards, Hermans started presenting programmes on Radio 2. He participated in the programme The Theatre of Sentiment. He also worked on American Connection where he played country and other American music with anecdotes and interviews with artists from those genres. In the meantime, he is part of various theater programs around country music, such as Country Road. In 2005 he was made a knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau. In 2010, the American Connection program was discontinued due to the redesign of the channels. At the same time, he was nominated for the Global Artist Award in the United States for his commitment to country music outside the U.S.; a number of performances in Nashville (Tennessee) follow. In 2007 he became Singer of the Year at the Dutch Country Poll Award Gala.
After that, he quit music for a while and became a funeral director. He made another vain attempt to bring about a reunion of the Tumbleweeds. After some time, music appealed to him again and he organized living room concerts. This resulted in his participation in and winning the second series of The Voice Senior, in which he was assisted by coach Ilse DeLange

n the beginning of the 1970’s, he took a course at Kleinkunst Academy in Amsterdam. Neyman’s first success came in 1980 with the song “Ik Weet Niet Hoe”. In 1985 Neyman scored his biggest hit with the song “Waarom Fluister ik je Naam Nog” (number 1 position in some Dutch charts). From the second half of the 1980’s Neyman had no major hits. However he still made a large number of albums and had a number of successful musical tours. Neyman received a Golden Harp in 1996.
His health began to decline in 2006. After he quitted with his previous manager, his partner Hans van Barneveld became his new manager in 2006. In October 2006 his last album “Onverwacht” was released and his last performance, a tribute to the deceased Conny Vandenbos, took place on December 2, 2007. Neyman announced on December 21, 2007 that he suffered from an advanced form of cancer and that his prognosis was not clear. On February 7, 2008 Benny died at the age of 56.

Johannes Casper A. (Jan) Buijs (27 February 1940 – 4 May 1985) was a Dutch music manager. He started as manager of The Cats and went on to work for bands such as Pussycat, Drukwerk and the George Baker Selection.
Jaap Buijs (27 February 1946 – 28 June 2015) was a Dutch music manager. Since the 1960s, he has represented well-known artists in the Netherlands such as the George Baker Selection, Jan Smit, Nick & Simon and the 3JS.
The two brothers continued together under the name Artiestenbureau Volendam, which became a household name in the Dutch music world. They moved their company from Haarlem to their parents’ home in Volendam. From that moment on, the brothers were inseparable, which often led to confusion, partly because their birthdays were on the same day and had similar initials (J.C.A and J.S.A).
The success of The Cats also attracted other bands and in the following years the brothers managed more well-known bands, such as Pussycat, Drukwerk, George Baker Selection, the Dizzy Man’s Band and Unit Gloria. The artists in their stable together achieved more than a hundred gold records. The singles “One Way Wind (The Cats)” and “Una Paloma Blanca” (George Baker Selection) each sold more than one million copies.
